Two Phutak Trees

It was a hot stuffy afternoon on 16th April, and I was sitting before a notebook working in mum's house.

Joel was behind me, standing on the sofa looking out of the window at a tree that was just pruned earlier in the day. He was mumbling to himself again, this time something about a "phutak tree". As I turned around to ask him what was he looking at, he pointed to his "phutak tree" ,which I realised was the pruned tree with most branches shortened and barely any leaves left. Then he shared that there's two "phutak trees". (Which meant "Botak" as in bald).

When I asked him where is the second "phutak tree", he quickly got down from the sofa and ushered me "Mummy, come .....follow me!". He pulled me to the hall and looked out of the window facing the same direction, and pointed " There! Mummy, there's TWO PHUTAK TREES! " Argh! He meant the same "Phutak tree" but out of two different windows!

Isn't he innocent!

Green poop!!!

If there's anyone out there that ever encountered or heard of green poop from babies or toddlers after the little one's received a scare, it's not a myth! And here goes my encounter ...

There's an old folk's saying in Chinese "Ork yan mo dam" meaning fierce people gets frightened easily. Haha, and that definitely applies for my two month old baby girl, Noelle. Just Monday morning, I was cleaning her green poop as she had a scare from my mishandling during her bath the day before. While changing her green poop covered diapers, her left heavy baby fat coated leg slipped from my hand and landed just about 15cm down on the bed she was lying.

Guess what!! That short casual drop gave her another scare!! I could see her swinging her two chubby arms in the air, eyes suddenly stared open wide and bursting into "ai ai ai". That's how she sound whenever she cries ( Quite unique actually, haha).

Guess what! The nanny reported green poop again on Tuesday morning from Noelle!! Haha!

Save a penny but lost a pound!!

It was a sunny bright Saturday, and I thought it would be just like the past few weekends. Just drowned in chores and the 3 babies.

Nah..., hubby sauntered into the hall in his messy hair asking me to hurry as we are going to rush down to Philips showroom to get my breastpump parts replaced, and we only have 1.5hrs to make it!! (As my 2 pcs of 3 yr old pumps have both gone on strike with faulty parts.)

We hurriedly packed up and left the house with Joel and baby Noelle, and of cos not forgetting Joel's PSP. Joel, as usually, left with us in glee as he's been in "confinement" with me for past months, and any ride in "papa's car" would be a real treat!

On arriving, Joel was running around the showroom chasing another kid, with PSP in one hand. Sam and I were both busy negotiating with the sales rep whether we could get a replacement at a better pricing. Little did we notice, our dear little "monkey" had casually left the PSP on one of the rack in the middle of his chase. It's only after I had queued to pay up, that I heard papa asking Joel in a stern voice "Where's the PSP?"

We repeated the question to Joel umpteenth times, and his angelic innocent looking face seems nonchalant to what had happened, and what would be the consequences. He finally broke down into tears after we explained, "No more PSP, daddy and mummy don't have it anymore."

Sigh, penny wise pound foolish. We saved some on the pump, but.......we lost the PSP!! Lesson learnt, NEVER TRUST LITTLE ONES WITH EXPENSIVE TOYS!!

Hmm....perhaps someone should really invent a device detonator with a remote activater. Haha....

How it all started ...

This blog site is a start in celebration of two new babies to our family, named Ethan and Noelle who are just two mins apart in birth.

With their addition to the family, we had learnt alot along the way. Especially who are the ones that would be there for you through weals and woes. This has indeed posted a test to the strength of the relationships amongst friends and family.

Yes, you might be wondering "So what with two newborns? How difficult could it be? Why the need for such a fuss?"

The learning is, having two cranky/colicy babies, together with an active, curious, sometimes jealous 3 yr old toddler under one roof is beyond just myself and husband can manage. This would be a blog to also share and look back to some of the fun and challenges we had encountered, and hope this would be helpful information to families expecting new borns, especially twins.

Would like to make a deep felt thanks to the families and friends that have contributed so much of their valuable time and effort in helping us tide through these period. Especially to my mummy dearest whom has graciously sacrifised even her sleep to help look after Ethan for these past month.

Special Thanks to my bubbly hubby that has made these times more tolerable and fun! And thank you so much for pulling me along through the periods of depression(By turning your back and walk away to let me tear in peace! Haha)

We'll have so much more sunny bright days ahead with the kids!

Getting Started ....

It took me awhile to decide on where to start my blog, content of the blog site, and how should the layout be? As usual, too much of a thinker, then to just let the hands take over.

Eventually, I decided to just let the information flow, and just jump onto any bandwagon that facilitates the services free. Thus, here goes nothing.

Do keep coming back and click away!!
